Specialized training and education are essential for effectively treating OCD and its various subtypes. While OCD can be a complex and severely impairing disorder, it generally responds well to specialized treatment provided by trained therapists. In my opinion, ongoing education in OCD treatment is crucial to ensure that sufferers receive the best possible care. Therefore, I allocate time each week for such training.
Since 2016, I have consistently engaged in continuing education trainings and professional development seminars offered by the International OCD Foundation (www.IOCDF.org). I have completed over 100 hours of Consultations and Advanced Consultations through the IOCDF's Behaviour Therapy Training Institute (BTTI), led by renowned experts in the field of OCD. Additionally, I graduated from the IOCDF Adult BTTI.
I also Co-Chair monthly meetings for the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (www.ADAA.org) OCD Special Interest Group (SIG).
As part of my commitment to staying informed, I participate in multiple OCD peer consultation groups that meet monthly for round table discussions on the latest OCD research and complex case consultations. Furthermore, I engage in ongoing self-directed professional development, including Cognitive Behavioural Training.
Since 2022, I have participated in a multitude of I-CBT clinical trainings. I have supplemented these trainings by joining small group I-CBT consultations group led by well-known experts.
